What to Expect – Itinerary
*Embarkation 07:30 AM – Disembarkation Approx. 7:30 PM
For this Athens Day Cruise to Aegina, Poros & Hydra Island, our personnel will meet you at the Lobby of your Hotel or Apartment to transfer you to the port. Upon arrival, Hostesses will welcome you to proceed to the V.I.P Lounge, where you can relax with Drinks All Day long, or to one of the spacious open decks, where you can enjoy the fascinating view as the ship leaves the port.
After departure, our Multi-lingual Guides will meet in one of the Lounges to give you all the necessary information concerning the cruise program and tips about the islands. This is the opportunity to get answers to any questions you might have.
First stop
The first stop, Hydra Island, is the place that inspired many artists like Picasso and Chagall and was the home of many artists like Tetsis, Gkikas, and Cohen. Many movies were filmed here too, like Sophia Loren’s movie “Boy on a Dolphin” and Melina Merkouri’s “Phaedra”.
After you disembark, you will see the small narrow stone-paved streets, the saddled donkey – the island’s traditional “vehicle”, seaside walks, crystal clear waters, and traditional fine-craft shops… the beauty of Hydra will catch you forever! Upon returning on board, the Buffet will be served. Taste the gastronomic creations of our Chef!
Second stop
The second stop is the Island of Poros, the smallest of the three islands, separated from the Peloponnese by a narrow strait. It offers an enchanting view of the yachts, fishing boats, and the Clock Tower. Stroll around the small, picturesque streets of the island town.
Our next destination is Aegina Island, the former capital of Greece after its Independence. Furthermore, this island is also famous for its pistachio production and export.
Final stop
Aegina Island, the largest of the three islands, has numerous interesting sites to discover.
On that note, we propose 1 of 2 optional tours for you to choose from, which are already Included in the Price….
- Walking Tour through the picturesque paved stone streets of Hydra Island, admiring the 500-year-old houses still inhabited with Bougainvillea and local flowers.
- Panoramic Bus Tour, driving across the island (without visiting the archaeological site) admiring nature, the medieval capital of Paleohora, Saint Nektarios Church, the pistachio groves… This tour ends at the seaside, where you can relax and enjoy a glass of Ouzo, along with a choice of irresistible Greek “Mezedes” (appetizers)!
Another choice is to stay in Aegina and enjoy a walk, a horse-carriage ride, or otherwise, relax in one of the harbor’s charming coffee shops.
And if you think that the day ends here….. NOT AT ALL!
A “Traditional Greek Folk Show” with singers and dancers in original costumes will entertain and animate you up to the final moment.
Finally, we will wish you a warm farewell and look forward to seeing you again on one of our cruises!
Our personnel will wait for you outside the cruise boat to transfer you back to your hotel or apartment in Athens.
